We have a garden!

Yesterday Josh took me out to Home Depot to look at garden things and to choose some pots for container gardening! We came home with at least 160 pounds of soil, pots of several sizes and shapes, and a few more packets of seeds. Josh dug some spots for the containers in our side yard and placed them, as well as put our two little fruit trees there near the bird feeders. He filled them up with soil, and today I planted 8-10 spinach seeds and a whole bunch of green onions.

Josh ALSO surprised me with an early Mother's Day gift...He brought home a beautiful wooden windowbox and plenty of variegated dianthus to fill it up. I love dianthus, and they look so beautiful and cheerful outside our window. It was so much fun to plant, too. Now I look out our window and see lovely flowers, and I can see the birds at our feeder (and hear them, too!), as well as our trees. It makes me happy.
