Marty's Morsels (mmm...)

Josh and I made cookies recently, and I thought I'd share the recipe. This is a family favorite! You don't need any flour for this one, because you use a cake mix, instead...which is great for me right now, as I'm having some difficulties with an indian meal moth infestation, and am trying to keep only enough grain for a week or two at a time.

This is an easy, easy recipe. So fast, and so YUMMY! I like to stock up on german chocolate cake mixes when they're on sale (as low as 50 cents a box), or can combine a sale with a coupon (and possibly get one for free!). Enjoy -- and make sure you have a glass of milk handy!

Marty's Morsels

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a medium-large bowl, combine:
1 box german chocolate cake mix
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup (1 stick) melted butter or margarine
2 eggs, lightly beaten

Once mixed well, stir in:
1 cup chocolate chips (or 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips)
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Spray a cookie sheet with cooking oil, then drop dough by tablespoons or scoopfuls onto your cooking sheet. Flatten dough balls slightly with your hand.

Bake until just done...You want them on the underside of done so they're good and chewy. Let them cool a bit on the pan after taking them from the oven, then transfer them to a cooling rack.
