It's Friday now, and I'd better check in with how the resolution has been going.
* Go to bed in time to get plenty of sleep. Generally, we've been going to bed at a fairly decent time, but we've still been waking up tired. So this area still needs some improvement...
* Rest as needed during the day. This has been a GREAT goal for me to have! Having it as a husband-approved goal has helped me to remember that resting when I feel tired is a necessary thing right now, and I don't need to feel guilty about it. I'm still learning how this works with little ones under my care, but it's definitely a good thing.
* Feed my family life-giving food. With some inspiration from Sheri Graham's meal planning workbooks, I made a menu plan for the week and have been working from it. With Josh's help in preparation, we've had pretty good meals each night (though last night's Fried Rice was more of a Fried Rice Risotto...I added too much water to the rice in the pressure cooker). I even made buns for the first time, which I've been wanting to do for a long time! They came out great! Perhaps I'll get back to the Hearthstone Journey series eventually -- maybe even soon -- and I can write about it.
* Spend time in Scripture every morning. I'm reading through the book of John in the mornings, sometimes aloud with Nathanael.
* Pray specifically for my husband and our children. I'm trying to be more purposeful about this. I've been praying, but would like to step it up.
* Pray for others as I am led. Some, but needs improvement.
* Exercise at least 3-4 times during the week. I've exercised some, but not enough to meet my goal. I'm hoping to do some walking today and tomorrow.
* Drink a lot of water. This is going well. I haven't been measuring what I drink, but have been making a point to keep refilling my glass and think to drink from it. I can tell I'm getting more water than I was last week, which is good.
* Use a portion of my sitting/resting time reading something stimulating and enjoyable. Yes, I've been doing this some, reading from the books on my sidebar ("What I'm Reading"). This is a nice habit, I think.
* Write on my blog. I'm trying to catch up on that today.
I've been trying to stick foremost to this week's goals, not endeavoring to attack any other undertaking aside from what is necessary and what falls under the above categories. Overall it has been a good week in this regard. Do I have my goals mastered? No, certainly not, but I have a beginning. And I believe it has been good for us. Next week I will maintain these same goals, but also plan to add others.
Week one is almost done! Yay for the journey ahead!
