What's up in the Wolfe household

Well, I suppose I really must write a new post seeing as it's been, let's see...two and a half weeks since I wrote my last one! Ah, well, that's how it is right now. Being a wife, mommy, and homemaker is definitely a full-time job! :)

We're all doing pretty well here. Life is full and busy, but really good. I am continually challenged to make godly choices, and to live out grace and love. I am finding how truly self-centered I am! But I am thankful God has a growing edge for me...Though there are many ups and downs, and I sometimes feel discouraged and overwhelmed, life is certainly not stagnant. That's a good thing.

Josh has a couple more weeks until his first rotation (Psychiatry and Neurology) is over and he begins his next -- and probably one of his most intense -- rotations, which is Internal Medicine. We've been bracing ourselves for this, and trying to prepare our family for it. We've heard so many people say they pretty much just survived through rotations like Medicine; we long for more than that. Already (during what is probably going to be one of his least demanding rotations schedule-wise) we have felt stretched and often tired and stressed -- making us more irritable. But we are growing in this, too, and praying in confidence for the future with the belief and trust that God has a way for His children to live a full life in the midst of pursuing His calling for them.

In happy news, Josh and I anticipate celebrating our second anniversary six days from now! We have so much for which to praise God. He is amazing! And tomorrow, my parents leave for an Alaskan cruise to celebrate their fortieth anniversary. Wow!

Nathanael, too, is such a cause for joy. We so dearly love his sweet and loving personality. His smile just melts our hearts! We are very thankful for his health and growth. Teething has made his bottle feedings more challenging, but God provided him with a ready and willing appetite for solids, which helps tremendously! It also encourages me so much; it is so fun to feed him, and is a delight in what has been a difficult area (feeding, that is). We sure do love this precious boy!

I would be remiss if I left Jake out of our family news. He just turned two recently! He spent a week's vacation at my parents' house, but is now back patrolling the birds and squirrels. We're not able to give him as much attention as he was used to, which we can see affects him; I should really try to be deliberate about giving him some special time each day.

That's all for now. I hope all who are reading this are doing well!
