The Hearthstone Journey: An Introduction to Baking Bread

On my mind a lot for the last little while (and on the minds of more and more people, it seems) has been the pursuit of bread baking. I've been talking with several women who are beginning or who hope to soon begin this pursuit, specifically with whole grains. This thrills me! As someone who has come to deeply value the process and product of baking whole grain bread from my kitchen, I rejoice to see so many increasingly value it themselves.

I would love to provide encouragement, tools, and training to those who desire to pursue breadmaking. To this end, it is my hope to write a series of posts on the subject, and to be available for questions, discussions, and moral support. :) Let me be clear: I have been and continue to be a student of bread baking. It is not because I am an expert in such matters that I am undertaking this series. Rather, I wish to share anything I have learned so far on this hearthstone journey that would aid another in the journey of her own. Working on this series is good for me, too, in strengthening my own knowledge and experience. I do not promise perfection; I will endeavor, however, to help you fill your home with the aroma of good things...of freshly-baked loaves of bread.
