At long last...

Ahem. So it's been quite awhile since I've posted last, and much has happened since then! Let's see if I can dust off my keyboard and crank up my rusty blogging brain to update you on what's been going on...

In mid-October, Josh and I moved our little family out of our first home, a one-bedroom basement apartment in the middle of the city we moved into shortly after marrying two and a half years ago. Josh started medical school just after we moved in; now he is halfway through his third year. We conceived our twins and grieved their loss there; we conceived and carried Nathanael and brought him home from the hospital there; and we left having conceived and carried our newest little Wolfe (now 20 weeks along!). We planted our first gardens together there, and set up our first bird feeders together there, too. A lot of life happened in that little place which God gave us for our home. It was just right for us these past two years -- much more than "just right" -- and now a new season has come for our family.

For some months we've been looking for a house with my parents. They've long wanted to invest in a house they could improve and sell. Our goal (theirs and ours) is to find a house they can fix up while we rent from them for the remainder of our time here. We've had ups and downs with this search, and have come close, but right now we're waiting. My sister and her partner so graciously offered to share their home with us during our transition. We stayed with them for three weeks, during which I began taking care of their little son, Benjamin, some days (he is three and a half months old and Nathanael has adopted him as his own brother :) ). That was a fun and relaxing time. Now we have entered the next phase of our move: into my parents' RV.

We've been here almost a week and are getting settled in. The weather has turned cold and windy, so it's cozy in here. Their RV has several slides which open it up and make it spacious, and it has beautiful oak cabinetry and comforting neutral tones. We've got a terrific spot in a park near the mountains with a large creek running past our windows, and a trail which takes us straight into town (it's small) and to the library, just a short walk away. And we're still within a reasonable commute to Josh's work and school and to my sister's house. It's such a treat to be here! Josh and I feel in no hurry to leave.

All is going well in our family. Josh is on his Pediatrics rotation, which gives us things to apply at home. :) Nathanael is ten months old now -- almost a whole year! -- and is such a joy. Little Baby Wolfe reached 20 weeks in utero on Wednesday, and we're enjoying feeling him or her moving. I'm loving being a wife and mom and homemaker in this season, and so thankful for the opportunity to get to be in Benjamin's life, too. I'm also getting some VERY useful training in preparation for Baby Wolfe! As for Jake our cat, he has been getting a vacation at a friend's home, which has been a huge blessing to us! All in all, we have been abundantly provided for in these various stages of transition. Family and friends have been so helpful and kind, and we are well situated. God is SO good!

I hope to keep my blog updated more frequently in coming days and weeks...It's good to be getting a bit more settled. Until then, happy Thursday!
