Today I have been feeling pretty run down, not well, weary, and exhausted. Were this an uncommon occurance I probably wouldn't be too discouraged about it. But I thank God for His encouragement to me this afternoon.
I have begun following a radio series (I read the transcripts online, but you can also listen online) by Nancy Leigh DeMoss on the life of Joshua. Today's message is called, "Don't Fight the Battle Alone," which is all about weariness. If you ever feel tired or weary or run-down in your daily battles, you should stop by her sight and take a look at this message. I hope you, too, are encouraged! (Note: If the link takes you to a different message [I think it goes to the current day], you can choose the date of the message in the upper-right part of the screen. This is Mon., Feb. 23.)
And here is a truly good word from Isaiah 40:
To whom then will you liken Me
That I would be his equal? says the Holy One.
Lift up your eyes on high
And see who has created these stars,
The One who leads forth their host by number,
He calls them all by name;
Because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power,
Not one of them is missing.
Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel,
“My way is hidden from the Lord,
And the justice due me escapes the notice of my God?”
Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth
Does not become weary or tired.
His understanding is inscrutable.
He gives strength to the weary,
And to him who lacks might He increases power.
Though youths grow weary and tired,
And vigorous young men stumble badly,
Yet those who wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.
Isaiah 40:25-31
