Homemade spray starch recipe

As a follow-up to my last post, I discovered a recipe for homemade spray starch in a book I checked out from the library called The Complete Book of Natural Housekeeping: 95 Pure & Simple Recipes to Clean, Polish & Freshen Your Home by Casey Kellar. I have not tried it, but if you're interested, here it is:

Grandma's Natural Spray Starch

3 tbsp. + 1 tsp. cornstarch
4 cups warm water
1-2 drops optional cologne (use cologne only because it is more water soluble)

Just as my grandmother used cornstarch and water to stiffen doilies for Christmas tree ornaments, cornstarch makes a great natural and economical spray starch. Mix the ingredients together and keep in a plastic spray bottle. Shake before using. Shelf life: approximately 6 months.
